Just too much to ask.....what with JJ Barea, (who seems to be a thorn in the side of OKC), the latest player to fall to the BACK SPASM epidemic which seems to have taken up permanent residence in the home locker room at Target Center....this was too tall an order. Realistically we knew that the Thunder would be pissed following their last game....unfortunately we were next in line.
This was just horrible to watch. It was like watching the scene from Raging Bull where La Motta ( DeNiro) takes to the ropes and lets Sugar Ray Robinson beat seven bells of sh*t out of him..."I never went down Ray...you never got me down, Ray"...you know the scene. That is the only encouraging thing about this...the Twolves were royally slaughtered last night but they are still standing, just.
The OKC team remind me of the posing, enigmatic, sneering Robinson...who defeated La Motta 5 out of 6 times......Westbrook and Perkins are unlikeable human beings and I'm quickly losing respect for Kevin Durant who seems to have developed a "moaners" mentality. This may be ungracious of me, tough, it's how I see it. Durant has been "T'd" up several times recently...that's not his game...he's better than that....he needs to leave that crap to those other two that I mentioned.
The difficulties that Minnesota are enduring at the moment were cruelly exposed last night......OKC dared them to shoot from range and on this night only 23% fell. We have no-one on our team who can make a defense collapse as the defense know there is no reason to collapse....if the threes fall, especially from the corners, the Wolves will prosper.
It's probably better to draw a veil over this performance...the damage was critical but not fatal....
