New Orleans Hornets 95 - Minnesota Timberwolves 89

Kevin Love, Nikola Pekovic and Luke Ridnour all notched double doubles in this game.

There's your positive side.

17 turn overs...translating into numerous transition buckets for New Orleans, non-existent defense for long stretches, poor shot selection ( a baffling preponderance to keep on lobbing threes when we were effective inside) and the vacuity created by the loss of Rubio.

Those are your negatives.

Anyone complaining about Luke Ridnour running the point, after last night's game, needs to get realistic. We ALL know that Luke shouldn't be doing this for long stretches...Luke Ridnour knows that....but he was thrust into that position last night and, as usual, gave it his best shot...14 points - 10 assists. The Timberwolves need to find a way to re-frame this season....and quickly. It starts, in my opinion, with getting Barea fit...or as others are suggesting today, dipping into the market and seeing if, by trading, we can keep the Play-off dream alive. They'll probably try out Barea and Ridnour....especially starting Barea at the point and making it clear to him that he needs to be the facilitator...he can do that quite effectively...from what we've seen this season so far his game falls apart when,  for whatever reason, he goes into "solo" mode.

Can Barea stay fit?

That is the question.....if not you're down to Ridnour and Lee.....and that dog don't hunt.

The trade deadline is now approaching with great haste...I have the feeling, given recent events, that there may be more activity involving the Target Center than we were lead to believe.
