Missed my pre-game blog for Denver....the completist in me is suffering greatly.....the continuity has been blown apart.
Still..we're here now and tonight Utah come calling.
Utah...niggly, hacking, moaning, complaining Utah....this could well be another hellish game....have your Kindle handy!
No, no, no...c'mon let's look on the bright side....Nikola Pekovic's sprained ankle seems to have responded to treatment as he was making positive noises this afternoon.....and this is our last chance to get back to 0.500 before the Circus in Mouse-ville. This, to me, means that Pek will play...if he is at all fit he will play. He can heal over the weekend. I would imagine that Adelman will be going all out to regain equity in the W/L column as this will be a good starting point when we reconvene against the Clips next Tuesday. A loss will leave a sour taste in the mouth and dark clouds will gather during the ensuing period...they just will....you know they will.
The last game against Utah was a horrible affair over at the Energy Solutions Center. The Jazz won that one 98-108 and did so in typically chippy fashion.
Kevin Love will be lining up a big game tonight one would assume...having been eclipsed on Monday night by a rampaging Kenneth Faried and having been less than effective or efficient against The Jazz last time out ( 15/8 - only one of two NON double doubles this season ) he's bound to be ready to step it up against Millsap and Jefferson. Rubio, I would imagine, will dominate at the point....Tony Parker dismantled Utah to the tune of 23/11 in their last game...Ricky can do that kind of thing.
It will probably come down to what kind of production we get out of the bench and how some of these players perceive their roles. I'd like to think that JJ Barea will descend from cloud nine just in time for this contest and prove that small guys really, honestly and truthfully don't need to "big up" and attack the hole (from everywhere) on every single play.
The rest? Well they just need to be efficient and play tough "D"
It'll be interesting to see what effect the "Lakers" rumours have on B-easy...could go either way.
Beware - C J Miles...there, I said it.
