Phew!
That was the last word I wrote on the note-pad this morning......thankfully for us the Kings bungled their last play, not calling for a time out and the ball falling to Donte Green who compounded his poor shooting night by crashing it off the iron at the buzzer...from the corner.
The Kings should never have been in it really but I take great heart from the wise words of Coach Adelman today.....
“I just told them it’s not always going to be perfect; it’s not always going to be something we look at and say, ‘That was great,’” Adelman said. “We had some terrible stretches in the game, but the important thing is we didn’t give in.”
He is so right...
This game will long be remembered for the emergence of Ricky Pekovic.......I notice Howlin T Wolf couldn't get his video to embed so I'll provide it here.

Good lord Pek!
I mean what is this guy going to come up with next? Last night he totally dismantled DeMarcus Cousins who eventually had to head to the bench confounded and dismayed by the sheer strength and skill of the Montenegran. We ( well some of us...I stand accused ) didn't think Pek could sustain this high calibre of play...well think again. He was, along with Ricky Rubio, our driving force last night. When Pek was on the court it was like being surrounded by a huge bearskin...you felt that things were going to be okay. This ofcourse is not to disregard young Rubio in any way, shape or form.....he sparkled against the Kings. Okay his shot was flat out awful on occasion but we have decided we are going to live (quite happily) with that when he turns in a defensive performance of such high quality. The Sacramento guards were terrified...Rubio had 5 steals and forced his opponents into countless other mistakes....he also had another bucketful of assists and had his team-mates been able to hit open shots he's have had a bucketful more.
The outside shooting was pretty poor....after the blitz in the first quarter.
After those 12 mins the Twolves were up 16-31....the Kings won the next three quarters by 3,3 and 7....squeak!
Okay I really don't feel like running through all the jottings today...aside from Pek and Ricky the only other things of note were an encouraging display from Derrick Williams, starting in place of Kevin Love, and a 14 rebound performance from Michael Beasley. Y'know Michael shot 7-21 from the field and that isn't very good...he'd be the first to agree, I'm sure...and like Andy G over at "Punch Drunk" I didn't necessarily have a problem with Adelman trying to go to him as a closer.....I mean Michael must have felt the pressure as he'd been a bit wobbly, offensively, all night but he gave it a go and didn't hide...he also pulled down 11 defensive boards.....for me, he contributed, I'll just try to frame it positively.
The Wolves spring to a winning record....13-12.....oh man does that look good.
Another test tonight in Memphis against the very tough Grizz......again Loveless.....but hey, we got Pek and the last time these two teams met Rick Adelman made a decision not to play him....won't happen tonight.
