The Fabulous Timberwolves wing their weary way to the land of the Mouse for this evening's game, at The Amway, with the Orlando Magic. The Magic have worked their way into a healthy 17-11 record and Dwight Howard is continuing to play as if he gives a damn about the team. That makes them tough to beat.
What makes them tougher is if they get their range from beyond the three point arc.....just about everyone (except Howard) shoots threes on this team...over the last three games they have taken 103 shots from downtown....compare that to 61 from the Twolves.....they aren't shy are they?
I still get a nervous tick when I think back to Steve Novak's shooting on Saturday.
Jason Richardson is bound to have used up his quota of three balls as he went 9-11 last night against the Bucks. Apparently someone in the crowd pissed him off...called him "old" or some-such....so Richardson dropped 31 points on their heads. Maybe the fact that Orlando are at home will mean that Richardson responds to the howls of "SHOOT!" by klanking everything...hope springs eternal.
Just heard that Darko is (probably) available but Luke Ridnour is not with the team for personal reasons. This gives Rick Adelman further selection and rotation issues. I'm going to take another stab at predicting the starting five taking into consideration the personnel changes....
Ricky Rubio, Wes Johnson, Michael Beasley, Kevin Love, Nikola Pekovic.
I fail to see how Darko can usurp Pek in the starting line-up and from reading Ray Richardson's piece in the Pioneer Press today I'm not so sure Darko feels he deserves it.....he and Pek are pretty solid.....it'll be interesting to see how Milicic does coming off the bench.
Watch the perimeter!
